Remember that pretty smartphone that OPPO was leaking images of almost everywhere, the one with the big screen and almost zero bezel? Yep, that’s the OPPO R7 Plus – one gorgeous looking phone and the China-based manufacturer is now accepting pre-orders on their website for US and European customers. Do you want this?
To remind you what’s inside this beautiful piece of hardware, you get a 6-inch Full HD (1080p) IPS LED display, powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor. That’s backstopped by 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Keeping the lights on is an ample 4,100mAh battery, plus a very up-to-date 13MP/8MP camera combo.
The one thing you might struggle to deal with is ColorOS 2.1 UI, that’s OPPO’s version of Android, but it’s still based on Android 4.4 Kitkat. With OPPO, you will have to wait if an update to Android Lollipop is even in the pipeline. That said, the phone offer 4G LTE connectivity, and that proprietary VOOC quick charging feature that gives you 2 hours of battery life on a 5-minute charge.
The OPPO R7 Plus will retail for USD$499 in the US and EUR449 in European markets. That’s just at the USD$500 boundary where most flagship products tend to go over. The OPPO R7 might have midrange performance because of that 2nd tier chipset, but the metallic gold aesthetics and that curved edge, no bezel screen will turn heads wherever you go.
