After typing a word, users of Yosemite can press the ESC key in order to reveal a list of suggested words, as in the above screenshot. It’s then possible to select individual suggestions using the keyboard and to input a highlighted word into your text field.
Before now, typing ESC mid-word would reveal a list of suggestions for completing that particular word. However, in OS X Yosemite, the ESC key looks set to gain further functionality in the form of the aforementioned QuickType-style feature.
Besides the above, Yosemite brings a redesign to OS X, it adds iCloud Drive, an improved Notification Center, enhanced Spotlight search, and more. Apple notes that the update is “coming this fall,” and that it’ll be available to download free of charge on the Mac App Store.
We’ll keep you updated with further information as we receive it.
