Pencil inWednesday, Oct. 22as the day Apple releases iOS 8.1 to the public. Thisupdate will turn on Apple Pay for the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, and likely the next-generation iPads.
In 2013, Apple delayed the launch of the iPad mini with Retina display until 10 days after the iPad Air arrived in stores. We don’t expect the same thing to happen this year.
If past practice is followed, the “iPad Air 2″ and third-generation iPad mini should be available on Friday, Oct. 31. It’s entirely possible, however, that they could launch one week earlier on Oct. 24.
