When a game is developed by a capable team for the PC and leading console platforms, it’s a given that the PC version, with proper components, should always look the best. Whether it’s in terms of resolution or framerate, the very nature of PC hardware makes it a platform that’s impossible to beat.
It’s good news, then, when the effort a developer pushes out for the console versions of such a game runs well too. Digital Foundry did a performance analysis for the Overwatch beta on both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, which you’ll see in the video below, and it arrived at a wonderful conclusion. The game runs well on both platforms.
Now, the Xbox One saw a few more dips and more occasions of screen tearing. The vast majority of the time? We’re talking parity, here.
