Panoramic photos sure can be fun to take, and they can capture a scene like no other art form. There are quite a few third party panorama apps, and then Apple included their own panoramic functionality as part of iOS 6. Capturing the photos is nice, but it’s even better when you can share those expansive photos. There are tons of ways to share photos on iOS, but most versions focus on low quality cropped versions. PanoPerfect is a social panoramic photo app that is designed specifically to share, and explore panoramas. It’s essentially Instagram for panoramas in a highly refined package.
With such a finite focus, there are obvious limitations, but on the flip side, PanoPerfect fills a niche that no one else does. Sharing panoramas can be done in other forms, but none highlight the expansive nature of panoramas to depict all that they capture. PanoPerfect has been updated numerous times with complete UI redesigns, and the current version gives you a smooth scrolling list of shared panoramas. You can double tap on a panorama to bring it up full screen, and then you just swipe your finger to pan the image at full resolution. Sharing an image is as simple as tapping a button in the upper right, and picking the panorama out of your camera roll. Like any social photo app, you can follow, like, and comment with Twitter & Facebook connectivity as well. The entire experience is simply a clean layout to display panoramas taken from around the globe.
PanoPerfect (Free, iPhone / Free, iPad) is a minimalistic offering that absolutely nails its simplified focus to let you share, and view beautiful panoramas.
