When it comes to applications in the Google Play Store, most fall within certain, typical categories. For instance, we see a lot of games, educational apps, and utilities.

However, we rarely see something as useful or as beneficial as People Helping People. The app offers an absolutely dynamite way to donate to charities that make a real difference, and without breaking your own bank. It’s simple, effective, and above all, impactful.
If that’s got you interested, then head on down below the break for our full review!
Concept and Functionality
The idea behind People Helping People is roughly two-thirds SwagBucks and one-third The Giving Tree—which as a concept, is absolutely magnificent.
For those feeling a little confused, here’s what the app does:
It allows the user to subject themselves (or at least their device) to a barrage of advertisements. These ads earn revenue for the developer just like any other app, but unlike most, People Helping People’s makers aren’t aiming to profit off the proceeds. Instead, everything the app generates is funneled into any one of a dozen incredible charities.
How about that for easy-of-giving? By simply turning on a single, small banner advertisement that sits in the corner of your screen, you can earn points-per-minute that are directly translated into real dollar amounts.
Doing some reading on your Android phone? Leave that bad boy open, and you’ll accrue more points than you could ever have hoped for. Then, when you’re rich as a pigs, it all goes directly to the current charity.

If you want to up the ante, you can also opt for full-screen ads, or even movies, to earn a few extra points. Then, when you’re ready, view your current point total by checking the leaderboard. While you’re there, go ahead and compare yourself to others across the globe.
Design and Interface
People Helping People’s is a very sleek, stark interface, and we’re honestly not upset by this. Everything you could want within the app is easily accessed in a matter of seconds. It’s no trouble at all to get the advertisements up and running, and interacting with them once they are is hardly any more of an inconvenience.
Obviously, we like flashier and more refined interfaces with our applications. But then again, with People Helping People there’s a lot more heart to consider than sex appeal.
This isn’t meant to be a Candy Crush-style mega hit. This is an app that literally anyone can use, for free, to promote good works across the globe. And to us, that’s a design that’s priceless.
Though, one can certainly put a price on good design! Thankfully, the kind folks at People Helping People haven’t done this: The application is completely free.
Let us repeat, you can start donating to world-impacting charities today without any cost to yourself. All it requires is a quick download and a little screen time for some inconspicuous advertisements.
All in all, we simply cannot recommend People Helping People enough. It’s a beautiful concept, it’s very well-designed, and it’s completely effortless. Not to mention it’s simply a good thing to do.
