It seems Motorola is really going to milk the Razr look until it’s dry (and outdated). Having seen a possible upcoming variant from the Droid Razr lineup last week, a device that’s unceremoniously known as the Droid Fighter, another Razr device has been leaked on the same China-based phone forum.
Looking at the set of pictures, it’s hard to differentiate this particular Droid model from last week’s leak. This one doesn’t appear to carry any branding for now, unlike the alleged Droid Fighter, which has both Motorola and Verizon stamps on the phone. Both phones are missing hardware soft keys though, which is a good indication that they will ship with Ice Cream Sandwich.
We can also learn from the pictures that the device uses the same Kevlar backing as other Razr phones. In a departure from the previous iterations, the Kevlar now covers the whole back part, all the way to the top. The back of the phone reveals that the camera is of an HD one, possibly to show that it can record 1080p HD video. No specific camera resolution was mentioned, though.
The forum members seem to use the Blade moniker to refer to the mysterious Droid device. Droid-Life, however, thinks that this may simply be an effect of a Google Translate misinterpretation. Let me tell you — if our last name was Gillette, we would definitely approve the full Motorola Droid Razr Blade name.
This is as far as what we can report for now. When other Android manufacturers are busy revamping the looks and innards of their phones, we wonder if churning out more Razr lookalikes really is the best that Motorola can do this year.
Are you happy with the direction that Motorola is taking with its Droid lineup?
