PlayRaven, a Finland-based independent game development studio, has recently released their real-time strategy title built and is now available worldwide for iPhone and iPad. Dubbed Winterstate, the game takes the hardcore real-time strategy genre and kicks it up a notch for mobile gamers. The game takes players to a world where a global climate disaster has torn apart the economy of the USA, where groups of survivors to roam the frozen landscape in all kinds of makeshift attack vehicles. It's players across the world to join Knuckle Sam -- a homage to America's famous Uncle Sam -- and fight back against the bandits to protect the Winterstate. Throughout the game players also formulate battle plans in real-time 3D environments while raiding other players around the world.
“We wanted to capture the thrill of AAA real-time strategy in a form that would entertain and delight a whole new generation of mobile gamers,” said Lasse Seppänen, co-founder and CEO at PlayRaven. “Winterstate has unique line-drawing mechanics, allowing players to battle with their vehicles in a way that feels completely smooth and natural on mobile touchscreen devices.”
According to PlayRaven, this is the second of three games that are set to come from them in 2016. PlayRaven's previous release, Robocide, is also a real-time strategy game that landed last month in February. Interested?
