Since we learned that some games will be able to use the handheld PS Vita as a PS4 controller, we've been waiting to hear if Sony will sell the two consoles together - and word is that it will.
Inside Gaming Daily's "well-placed anonymous source" says that the bundle will launch before the year is out, with pricing said to be around $500 (that's about £325 / AU$557).
That's not too shabby given that a PS4 will set you back $399.99 when it launches in the run up to Christmas, and a PS Vita costs about $250 in the US. The supposed bundle would save you $150.
It's likely that the bundle will see a higher price tag in the UK, if it's introduced in Britain at all. The PS4 alone will sell for £349, and combine that with the £170 Vita and we can't imagine the bundle will come in at less than £400 to £450.
The PS Vita currently costs around AU$250 down under but the Aussies are looking at a painfully expensive $549 PS4 so who knows how much the bundle would go for.
Still, the benefit of having the Vita alongside the PS4 extends beyond being able to use it as a controller for a few games a la the Wii U: the handheld will also be able to stream all PS4 games using Remote Play.
The source says Sony will announce the deal at Gamescon later this month, but given that this source is completely unknown to us, we'll just have to wait and see.
