Were you one of the 2 million people who preordered an iPhone 5 when it popped up on Apple's website last Friday? Or perhaps you were one of the numerous others who preordered their iPhone 5s through Verizon or AT&T—the latter of which said on Monday that the iPhone 5 was the fastest-selling iPhone the company has ever offered. And if you live in Canada, the UK, Germany, France, Japan, Australia, Hong Kong, or Singapore, you may have also placed preorders for delivery on September 21.
Whatever the case, it certainly looks as if the iPhone 5 launch is gearing up to be Apple's biggest product launch yet. As shown by the graph posted by MacStories on Monday, iPhone 5 preorders have already exceeded the number of total iPhone 4 orders for its entire launch weekend in 2010, and the device isn't even available to the public yet. As such, it's possible the coming weekend will bring record sales for Apple, while slowpokes will have to wait several weeks until more stock is available.
With the launch less than a week away, we figured we'd turn to you, dear readers, to get a pulse for what the community is doing. Did you already preorder an iPhone 5, or are you planning to buy one? If you're in the US, which carrier are you going with? If you're switching from a non-iOS device, what are you switching from? And for all these questions: why?
