I don’t know if there’s a big cross-over between people who use iPhones and people who are also Star Wars fans, but if you fit in that narrow demographic, good news! Peripheral-maker PowerA has just announced two officially licensed Star Wars cases for iPhone 4/4s, and they’re doozies! The first has an R2-D2 theme, which will be sure to alleviate the jealousy caused by that special edition Motorola Droid phone. As for the second, it’s a Chewbacca phone. And it’s fuzzy.
The case claims to have “Chewbacca fur,” which is ridiculously false, since killing a Wookiee, let alone Chewbacca himself, would be absurd and cause a worldwide outcry. My guess is it’s Ewok. The R2 unit is also “realistically engraved,” (though without carbon scoring) as is the bandolier on the Chewie case.
The cases are listed as “limited editions,” but no word yet on pricing or availability. You can visit the PowerA website to sign up for notifications, and see the other two cases in the series, which use poster art from the original film.
