After Zinio got my juices flowing I thought I’d better take a deeper look at this aggregated newspaper & magazine app. I must confess when I first looked into PR I immediately looked for our local Reno Gazette Journal (it wasn’t there), then I searched for our popular Reno News & Review paper.. also not present. Then I just sort of forgot about PressReader. I didn’t even realize at the time that I could find all kinds of original mags on films, arts, entertainment etc.
So going back into PR the second time I realized 2,100 different newpapers/mags turns out to be a LOT of content. All your current events on the gorgeous-perfectly-compact-PlayBook. Downloads show up right away, you can set future subscriptions to auto deliver. Even add your heavy rotation to favorites.
Cracking open your digital content – this is the best part! Besides the fact that apps like this are saving a ton of waste and are clearly better for our children’s future. I can promise you that once your holding the Los Angles Times in your hands through the power of the PlayBook, all your doubts will be washed away.
I’ve been getting up in the morning, making my cup of coffee then I pick up my PlayBook to read the funnies through PressReader. I don’t have to go outside to fetch a newspaper. I’m warm up with the cup of joe, a PlayBook and thousands of optional papers to sift through! Win, win win.
The pricing of digital items is great too. I was leery about that too originally. Yet I can happily say you won’t be spending more more with this app. Plus you can set to have your old content automatically deleted after x-amount of days. No more guilty piles of newspapers by the fireplace in the summer time.
If you haven’t already checked this app out.. do so now. You won’t be disappointed. Zinio fans will be right at home with this too.
