Sony introduced the PS4 Remote Play feature with the Xperia Z3 smartphone earlier this month. However, this was only limited to the new flagship and Sony even acknowledged that it would remain an exclusive to Xperia devices. But it was only a matter of time before the dev community jumped in and got a slice of the action for everybody. Starting today, interested users can download and install the necessary files to make Remote Play functional on any Android 4.0 running device.
However, since Sony is yet to officially launch the feature, users can only interact with a nearby PS4 and not actually use the feature. But rest assured, when Sony actually enables support later this year, Android users will be able to access Remote Play just as they would on a flagship Xperia product.
You can find complete details on how to download and install the necessary firmware on your compatible Android smartphone by navigating to the XDA link below. The makers of this mod also suggest that you download a separate version of the PlayStation app which supports this feature.
