First announced in September, the headset includes 7.1 virtual surround sound, a retractable boom mic for voice chat, breathable ear cushions, and in-line volume and mic controls. Sony also says the headset features a lightweight design to keep you comfortable during extended gaming sessions.
The headset takes advantage of custom audio modes specific to particular games. The sound designers and engineers that created the games' sound created these equalizer profiles that can be downloaded to the headset, ensuring that the game sound is reproduced as intended. Custom audio modes are on the way for Far Cry 4, The Last of Us, inFamous: Second Son, Watch Dogs, and Destiny. The custom audio modes will also work with Sony's Gold and Pulse Elite wireless headset.
The Silver headset is compatible with PlayStation Vita and other mobile devices with a 3.5mm jack. You can get the Silver Wired Stereo Headset from Amazon.
