Tomorrow’s the big announcement day. Not only do we get a new version of Android (Ice Cream Sandwich) fully unveiled, but we also get two devices – the Motorola Droid RAZR for Verizon and the Nexus Prime Samsung Galaxy Nexus (also likely for Verizon starting out but should certainly be heading to other carriers.
Rob’s already in Hong Kong for the Samsung and Ice Cream Sandwich festivities while Kevin will be on a beeline to New York for Motorola and Verizon’s press briefing. Exciting times ahead within the next 24 hours. We’ll be getting hands-on video with all of this stuff so keep it dialed here.
Oh, and our friends at AndroidForums.com are running an IRC chat during the Ice Cream Sandwich event. Think of it as a live blog, of sorts, except a lot more involved and exciting for participants. It’ll especially be useful for those of you who can’t watch the briefing live. I recommend mIRC for Windows if you’re in need of a client.
And if you can’t get that on your PC, download Android IRC – quite possibly one of the best mobile IRC clients I’ve ever used. The channel is #AndroidForums on freenode. Be sure to refer to the official documentation and FAQs of the client you’re using if you’re unsure how to join. Can’t wait!
