I’ve been following developer qbotron on Twitter for a while now, and even apparently missed them at BlackBerry DevCon 2011. But I hadn’t experienced any of their apps until recently. After reading the description for puZZed, I was putty in their clever coded minds!
puZZed is an alarm clock that forces you to think by solving a clever puzzle before your able to shut it off. Before you have a chance to get mad or turn your alarm clock off, your already past it because now your mind is awake.
Truly a simple app, a small footprint and to top things off you can use your own music to wake up to. And as they say in the post, the purpose of puZZed is not to entertain you. The purpose is to wake you up!
Set-up is brilliant! The moment the app is finished downloading your taken directly into the settings to get things rolling. Strange thing I did notice in BlackBerry App World the app is Free, however you cannot randomize puzzles in the Free version until you purchase at least one more puzzle. They range from $0.99 to $1.99 each. The Berryfication Store [MobiHand] version is $4.99 and comes with 5 puzzle styles and includes the option to randomize.
Now I know what some of you may be thinking.. we’ve already got an Alarm Clock built in. Sure, that’s true. But how many times a year are you late to work, school, ect because you’ve gotten up and turned that alarm off? We do this more often than we’d like to think. I know myself and all I really need is to tell myself, “hey Ryan, you’ve got things to do. Wake up!” And man have I tried a lot of alternatives. Different apps, multiple alarms, placing the clock across the room and so on. So far puZZed is working out great for me. Almost 2 weeks now. Do yourself a favor and at least check out the Free version. You’ll thank me later for it.
