This Quick Tip Lets You Easily Convert Slow Motion Videos to Regular Speed Right on Your iPhone or iPad
The built-in slow motion video feature on iOS devices is a hit, but there may be times when you'd rather have that video at a regular speed. Traditionally, converting slow-motion video took a bit of work with editing software on a computer.
But with iOS is so easy to use that you can actually speed up these videos directly on your device. The editing tools are a bit tucked away, but I'll show you how easy it is to quickly convert videos right through the Photos app, regardless of the capture speed.
Note this trick only works on an Phone 5s or newer.
Step 1: Open the Photos App & Locate Your Desired Slo-Mo Video
When the camera is in slow motion mode, the entire video is taken at a high frame rate of 240 frames per second (fps), which lets the user move the slow motion section around, elongate it, or cut it entirely.
After you've taken a slow-motion video, launch the Photos app, then find the video you want to convert and select it.
Step 2: Launch the Editing Interface
Tap on the Edit button in the upper-right corner to begin the video editing and conversion process.
Step 3: Perform the Actual Magic
You'll now see a view that includes two white sliders along at the bottom of the screen—drag one towards the other until they merge (it doesn't matter where they come together).
The sliders indicate the part where the slow motion starts and stops. When you merge them, the slow motion video is played at normal speed.
Tap on Done to save the changes you made and finish the process. Or, if you change your mind, tap on Cancel to exit.
Keep in mind that the newly transformed video loses its slow motion property, since the frames are now playing back at normal speed.
To make that, or any other part of the video, back into slow motion, simply go into Edit mode and separate the sliders in the section of the video you want slowed down.
