Have you ever sent someone something so incredibly hilarious and wondered what their immediate reaction was? Now, with React, you can find out.
React is an app that allows you to embed a reply mechanism into a text message. When the person you sent the message to received your message, they simply tap on the get React icon at the bottom of the message, and then read the message. In that moment, they can record their reaction and then send it back to you.
Its an amazing tool that allows you to be that fly on the wall to see exactly how someone feels in the moment. You could be sending your mom the great news that you are expecting, or a student may be sending their grandparents the news of their acceptance into their first choice college. You are sending something to momentous; it would be nice to be able to send back the exuberant reaction you get when you get the great news.
The best part is that its so easy to use. I downloaded React onto my iPhone and then instantly started using it. It communicated seamlessly with both the messaging function on my iPhone. There was no copy/pasting or anything extra do to.
I was able to send my friend a text with a funny joke. I added the React piece as well. Then I sent it. When she got it, it was locked, which is the way this works. In order for her to read my message, she had to unlock it by tapping the React icon at the bottom of the message, which asked her to record her reaction. She did, and boy was it funny!
She thought it was the greatest thing to let me know, in the moment, to let me know how much she loved my message.
React has a few enhanced features that you can activate with an in-app purchase. You can Revoke your message before its read something that may come in handy if you are send something to the wrong person or just changed your mind about sending the message. You can also slice videos once you receive them but again, this is with an in-app purchase.
I really cant say anything bad about this app. I thought it was a neat idea. However, it only works if the recipient taps on the React icon. They may choose to just ignore, which means they decided never to read the message.
Its a really cool idea that makes messaging even more interactive, because you get to see, in the moment, the amusing effect your message had, and you get to share it.
