The original Myst was the first game I ever bought, and I can remember the thrill I had as I explored fantastic worlds linked together by books. For hours I would examine each scene as I gathered clues to solve the puzzles that prevented my progress. It’s an incredible game that has become a legend, with many sequels and updates on both the Macintosh and Windows, and now coming soon with realMyst for the iPad 2 and iPhone 4/4S.
The biggest advantage of realMyst, compared to the original, is that it allows you to look anywhere and move anywhere in a 3D game. All you need to do is touch to move and swipe to turn. The environment is vibrant with rippling water, falling rain, floating clouds, swaying trees, and roaming animals.
The original Myst game is included with an all-new fifth age, called the Rime Age, which provides a complete ending to the original mystery. You must decode hidden clues placed throughout each age through text, video clips and tricky puzzles in order to advance to the next world and discover what happened to everyone and to find a way back home.
realMyst will be available at the App Store in Spring 2012 for the iPad 2, the new iPad, and the iPhone 4/4S. Until then you can look at the other products from Cyan Worlds that are available for the Macintosh and Windows.
