Nobody really buys a high end phone that isn’t an iPhone anymore. Spending $500 plus on an android phone these days is not a good idea when you can buy a phone for $150 that has similar features. But there was one thing at the low end that could not match with the high end phones. Its build quality.
Software remains same on all android phones more or less but hardware limitation is something rather unforgivable. Xaomi is going to change that with its Redmi note 3.
Xaomi announced few devices at its event yesterday like the mi pad 2 but the star of the show turned out to be the Redmi note 3. The device comes with a 5.5 inch full HD display. But what was surprising is that xaomi made this phone with a metal unibody and has also fitted a fingerprint sensor that is more common among the high end devices. the finger print sensor is top quality and unlocks the phone in just 0.3 seconds.
The build quality is also top notch with sand blasted curved aluminium edges. The specs are very good. There is 3 GB of ram and a helio X10 processor. Android 6.0 with miui 7 on top is what the phone comes with. A 13 MP camera with phase detection autofocus is made available. all this comes in a neat package that cost you $140 or $172 for 16 GB or 32 GB model.
it comes in silver, gold and grey options. This price point is where Samsung really build its fortunes on. The low end android devices made android common house hold name bring popularity to the mobile operating system.
Personally I would choose the aluminium Redmi note 3 that is packed with top notch features over the plastic low end Samsung phone that are plastic and looks same. Samsung needs to do something about it and that too fast.
