While most of the big guys in mobile have already released a variety of smart watches, HTC has been the odd one out. We’ve been wondering how long it would take the Taiwanese company to bring one to market, but according to Bloomberg’s latest report we won’t have to wait much longer — they say it’ll be shown off at the May 1st press event HTC scheduled in Barcelona.
According to the report, the smart watch will integrate Under Armour’s fitness service which would explain the partnership that was made between the two not too long ago. There aren’t many other details to be had about it at the moment, but considering how dangerously close we are to Mobile World Congress we wouldn’t be surprised to hear more soon.
The report also confirmed murmurings we’d already heard before — the HTC One M9 will be unveiled. The device, also known as the HTC Hima in the rumor mill, is said to be coming with a 20 megapixel rear camera and an HTC UltraPixel camera on the front (which previous rumors have suggested). Other HTC One M9 specs are rumored to look like the following list:
Snapdragon 810 chipset with Adreno 430 GPU
3GB of RAM
5-inch 1080p display
Android 5.0 Lollipop with HTC Sense 7.0
We’ll have to wait for HTC’s big unveiling to see if that matches up, but either way we’re sure the device will look to compete with the best of them. Be sure to stay tuned as we’re bound to learn more about HTC’s plans ahead of the big day.
