British retailer Carphone Warehouse has prematurely revealed Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Pocket Neo prior to its official unveiling. It’s an entry-level smartphone that comes packing Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, and it’s going on sale in May. Here’s everything we know about it.
Carphone Warehouse didn’t quite reveal all of the handset’s specifications, unfortunately, but we do know some things. The Galaxy Pocket Neo will have a 3-inch display, a rear-facing camera, 3G connectivity, and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean skinned with Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface.
Futhermore, the retailer claims it’s “got similar styling to flagship Samsung devices such as the Galaxy S3!” It sounds like a Galaxy S III Mini that’s even more low-end, then, but it might be ideal for those looking to bag an Android smartphone on a budget — particularly if you’re interested in TouchWiz.
Carphone Warehouse says “the Samsung Galaxy Pocket Neo is a perfect budget smartphone that lets you get on the net, take photos and looks great.”
“Smooth, rounded and glossy in finish, the Samsung Galaxy Pocket Neo is a sweet looking phone that’s modern and practical. It’s also very light, so it won’t weigh your pockets down, and is perfect as a first time smartphone for kids and teenagers.”
There’s no word on pricing just yet, but we’re expecting the device to cost less than £200 in the U.K. — just like its predecessor. Given that Carphone Warehouse has already leaked it, we’re expecting the device to get its official announcement soon.
