The RetailMeNot iPhone app brings mobile coupons to your hands.
RetailMeNot has brought its digital coupon service to the palms of your hands with the new iPhone app, so that means you can quit clipping coupons with your grandma (you should still hang out with her though).
RetailMeNot does offer some solid bargains but I've shied away from it because I don't really want to have to print things out. Apparently, I'm not alone, as the company said that over 17 percent of its total traffic is coming from handheld devices.
With the new iPhone app, one can easily browse for stores (online and brick-and-mortar), which are offering coupons. The RetailMeNot iPhone app also includes curated "Hot Deals," the ability to save coupons for later, more than 1,600 in-store exclusive coupons and more.
I've played with the app a bit since it's come out and think it has a nice UI with neat touches like the drag-and-drop interface for using coupon codes. It's also much more convenient to just bust out this app when you're shopping than carrying around a bunch of physical coupons.
I see a ton of potential with this type of app, as it could use geo-location to even offer you one-time deals if you're near a store. If done correctly and with the proper permissions, I don't think many would mind.
