Jon R. is back to discuss various topics in and out of the tech world. On this week’s episode, Jon riffs on Apple’s new giant iPhone, the iPhone 6 Plus.
Not so long ago, the standard size for an iPhone was 3.5-inches. It was a great size, which allowed you to comfortably use the device with one hand and was also extremely pocketable. Things changed for Apple this month with the release of the iPhone 6 Plus.
Now with the larger 5.5-inch display, the phone is difficult to use with one hand and you risk bending the phone if you don’t have big enough pockets. Samsung has been criticized for taking cues from Apple’s iPhone in the past, but this change in screen size by Apple was probably influenced by the success of Samsung’s larger devices like the Galaxy Note.
Regardless, it’s great to have options when it comes to screen sizes on the iPhone and we welcome the new iPhone 6 Plus. All this and more in this episode of Rettinger’s Riffs!
