The iPad is one versatile device, everyone knows that, but more often than not in my social circles, it does seem as though folks who use the iPad tend to lean more towards the casual user side, and once in a while, you get an enterprising mind such as Liat Segal’s, who managed to come up with a homebrew product which will enable the iPad to control drums remotely. This is made possible thanks to the amalgamation with a sequencing program on the iPad itself, allowing you to change the rhythms on-the-fly to suit the situation. Basically, it comprises of a radio transceiver that is attached to a tiny Arduino board, where connectors will head on directly to the robot drumstick servos. You will not find a future iPad conducting an entire orchestra just yet though, so don’t fret about machines taking over the music world – yet. There does not seem to be any stopping the iPad, is there?
