On July 7 2011, Rogers LTE coverage went live in Ottawa Ontario making it the first city to have Rogers LTE coverage. Since then, these other major Canadian cities have been added: Calgary, Halifax,Montreal,St. John’s, Toronto, and Vancouver. Now, a year later and Rogers has announced that the LTE coverage by the end of 2012 will grow by 28 markets across Canada bringing their LTE coverage to a total of 35 Canadian markets and covering 60% of the Canadian population.
Rogers also stated that even more cities will be added in 2013. We can only hope at that time they start to include some of Canada’s more rural areas.
Here is the list of Canadian cities to get Rogers LTE sometime this year:
Saskatoon, Sherbrooke, St. Catherines, Sudbury, Waterloo,Windsor,Winnipeg,
Trois-Rivières, Quebec City and Victoria.
This should be exciting times for Rogers customers in those markets for sure. If you are a Rogers customer in one of the new planned LTE areas; let us know if your going to pick up an LTE device as soon as the network launches or are you going to wait? let us know in the comments.
