The new Rose Gold color option for the new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, (or as we like to call it, Mulva Pink) may account for as much as 40% of all iPhone pre-orders.
KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, in a note to investors on Thursday, said according to supply chain sources he had spoken with, rose gold is said to be the most popular color option for pre-orders, and is accounting for between 30% and 40% of all pre-orders.
AppleInsidernotes that Foxconn should greatly benefit if the estimate is anywhere close to accurate, as Foxconn is the only case supplier that is capable of volume production of that version.
Kuo also noted that Apple could possibly sell between 10 million and 13 million units of the new handsets during opening weekend. Wall Street has high expectations for the device, in the 12 million to 13 million range. However, Kuo says it is more likely that Apple will sell under 12 million units during the period, possibly due to demand, or production bottlenecks.
If it follows tradition, Apple will likely announce opening weekend sales figures for the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus on Monday, September 28th.
