The feature phone may be dying, but it is not dead yet. Verizon Wireless is still on board with the diminutive flip phone and today started offering the new Samsung Convoy 3. The Convoy 3 is a rugged phone with military specs for dust, shock and high heat. Like most rugged feature phones, it has push-to-talk, which makes it ideal for work site communications.
The Convoy 3 includes dual color displays, noise cancellation via dual microphones, a 3.2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth, microSD expansion and a 480MHz processor. It runs on Verizon’s 3G network, but does not support 4G LTE.
The Convoy 3 costs $99 with a new two-year contract. Customers can also buy it outright for $199.
