The Samsung Galaxy S III is not on the show floor at Mobile World Congress 2012. Samsung felt the announcement surrounding its next flagship smartphone was important enough to have its own event. Samsung clearly wants to build anticipation, but a recent supposed leak may have just stolen all of Samsung’s thunder.
Boy Genius Report has its hands on what it believes are the specifications of the Samsung Galaxy S III. As expected, the hardware that may be included in this device is good enough to make anyone think twice about the smartphones that were announced over the past couple days. Let’s get right to it.
The Galaxy S III is believed to be a 1.5GHz quad-core smartphone powered by a Samsung Exynos processor. It’ll ship with Ice Cream Sandwich, contain a 2-megapixel front and 8-megapixel rear camera and is 4G LTE compatible. The case is also made from ceramic instead of plastic. I’ve saved the best for last. The display is said to have a 16:8 aspect ratio, is 4.8-inches diagonally and has a 1080p HD resolution.
The image above shows what BGR believes the Galaxy S III may look like. We’ll see what Samsung has to say about this.
