iLounge, famous for rumors about iPhone ia back with a new one!
The next iPhone is the most talked about topic these days and the latest rumor coming from the editor at iLounge indicates that the device is to be 10mm longer and 2mm thinner than iPhone 4/4S. No more of the teardrop mockups and prototypes witnessed last summer. The iPhone 5 release date had been predicted to be in September or October this year but again this is also a rumor not confirmed as yet.
iPhone 5 FeaturesApple’s next iPhone measuring 125mm by 58.5mm by 7.4mm is purportedly going to be the first iPhone to have a larger display, four inches in diagonal owing to the much thinner Gorilla Glass 2.
At just 0.8 millimeters thick, Gorilla Glass 2 is said to withstand 121 pounds of pressure. This seems to confirm the report that this will be the first time the device’s aspect ratio is changed since the launch of the first iPhone, that is, additional pixels are added to the top and bottom of the screen.
The leaked iPhone 5 pictures show an all-metallic flat backside which indicates a major change to the rear casing. The rear panel is designed to be flat instead of curved and metallic instead of ceramic as in iMac.Besides that there will be another feature – a new dock connector which is to be smaller and rounder with a larger port and fewer pins. Apple plans to use this kind of dock connector in all its upcoming devices. But, right now the company plans to use such a thin and small dock connector in its iPhone which means that the device would be terribly thin.
There is however one particular hitch yet unresolved and that is the 3.5mm headset jack. However, that is also expected to actually vanish giving preference to Bluetooth and AirPlay streaming.
