Over the last 24hrs, a new rumor seemingly has begun to gain some traction among the blogosphere. As with rumors, of course, you have to take them with ten grains of salt, especially when we’re this close to MWC 2013. So, with that being said, let’s lay it out there…
The Samsung Galaxy Note III could show up at the mobile conference, alongside the Galaxy Note 8.
That’s not a small rumor whatsoever. So let’s look at how this could have some backing, eh?
We’ve previously reported that the Galaxy Note III is rumored to be bigger and better than ever, will boast a massive screen and the iconic S-Pen once more, and also that Samsung themselves have confirmed that we’ll already be seeing another Note family device make its debut at MWC.
In front of 111 million Superbowl viewers, Samsung released an ad for “The Next Big Thing”. Were they referring to the Note 8? The upcoming S-4? Or something else…
Amazon and many online retailers have begun to slash prices on the Note II simultaneously and without any pre-announcement. Why the sudden need to clear out stock, unless you have something new on the way?
With Samsung throwing a substantial investment in Wacom, and with their total domination of the global mobile market in 2012 and success of their S-line devices, I could definitely see them wanting to come out swinging and swinging early. We know that the Galaxy S-4 will be revealed sometime near April, so between now and then, will Samsung rely solely on tablet sales and phones from last year? It’s definitely a question worth weighing. While the level of suspicion is quite high with this “leak” of information, so is the excitement for the possibility of it being true. What better way to show off that snazzy new Octa-core processor than inside the most popular super-phone line on the market?
Do you think Samsung will strike this early, or do you think it’s a load of bull? We’ll know soon enough.
