Last week, Samsung announced it was holding an event in mid-August to announce a new Galaxy device. Today, BGR chimed in with a post that claims the Korean manufacturer will introduce the Galaxy Note II. Though the source spoke anonymously and provided no confirmation, the Galaxy Note II is logically a likely candidate. The original tablet phone is nine-months-old, and August would be a good time for its introduction as Apple is rumored to be rolling out a 7-inch version of the iPad later this year. If Samsung wants to get traction for an updated version of its small-sized tablet, the company would be wise to introduce the Note II as soon as possible and potentially get it into the hands of consumers before the mini iPad announcement.
