The HTC One Max has been somewhat of an elusive beast: never officially announced, we’ve been aware of the scaled-up HTC One for some time now with leaked specifications and candid photos, but HTC seems to be keeping the wraps on their new phablet pretty well. We might be one step closer to a better idea of the release date, though, as the HTC One Max has been spotted passing through TENAA, the Chinese equivalent of the FCC. The certification entry suggests that the release date for the HTC One Max will be October 15th, which isn’t far off the previous rumours we’ve heard.
The device of course looks just like the HTC One in these photos, but there is one noticeable difference; as you can see on the back of the One Max is the fingerprint scanner that has been getting its fair share of attention. While this feature may have been included to capitalize on the hype of the iPhone 5S, the rest of the One Max’s features aren’t that inspiring considering, if this rumour is true, it will be launching alongside the Galaxy Note 3.
It’s yet to be seen if HTC has anything left up it’s sleeve to make the HTC One Max more attractive than what we’ve heard, but we’ll have to wait for and official release to see if there are any surprises.
