If The Princess Bride could be adapted into a mobile game over 27 years after its original release, surely another cult classic comedy film thats just over a decade old may get the mobile game treatment as well, right? Well, thats exactly the kind of treatment thats being given to Mean Girls.
Written by Tina Fey and starring Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfried, Lacey Chabert, Lizzy Caplan, and Fey herself, Mean Girls is a teen comedy film about the highs and lows of female high school social cliques.
The game, which is also called Mean Girls, is developed by RuPauls Drag Race: Dragopolis 2.0 creator So Much Drama. According to So Much Drama, the game, which is also called Mean Girls, finds the original Plastics at peace with their world, when a new upstart Plastics clique attempts to take control of North Shore High School by piecing together the broken Spring Fling Tiara.
Mean Girls notably features characters, lines, locations, and other elements from the film.
Mean Girls is set to be released soon on iOS, presumably as a free-to-play game.
As a huge fan of the film, Im looking forward to checking out the game, if only to see how it taps into the treasure trove of iconic characters, quotable quotes, unforgettable plot points, and more afforded by Mean Girls.
