Samsung has announced the company’s newest flagships during Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona earlier this month. The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge have been making its way to various markets all over the world in form of a pre-order for quite some time now, and the company has now showcased their newest offerings in India as well. Samsung has held an event in that Asian country and basically re-announced both of these devices for the Indian market.
The company has also revealed the pricing structure for their new flagships, and has also said in which colors will the two handsets be available in. The Samsung Galaxy S6 will be available in White Pearl, Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum and Blue Topaz color options. The 32GB variant of the device costs Rs. 49,900 ($801), the 64GB version will set you back Rs. 55,900 ($897) and the most expensive 128GB model is priced at Rs. 60,900 ($977). The Galaxy S6 Edge comes in White Pearl, Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum and Green Emerald colors. The 32GB variant costs Rs. 58,900 ($945), the 64GB model is priced at Rs. 64,900 ($1,041) and the most expensive 128GB variant will set you back Rs. 70,900 ($1,137) should you choose to purchase it.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge handsets feature a 5.1-inch QuadHD (2560 x 1440) Super AMOLED display along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB, 64GB or 128GB of non-expandable internal storage space. The company’s proprietary 14nm Exynos 7420 64-bit octa-core processor is ticking under the hood here, and Android 5.0.2 Lollipop comes pre-installed here with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI on top of it. 16-megapixel OIS camera (+LED flash) is located on the back of these handsets, and a 5-megapixel snapper is available up front. Both devices are made out of metal with glass panels on both their front and back sides, which makes them both feel and look premium. The Galaxy S6 Edge also offers curved display on both sides, which gives it kind of a unique look. Both of these handsets offer 4G LTE connectivity (Cat. 10). The Galaxy S6 measures 143.4 x 70.5 x 6.8mm and weighs 138 grams, while the Galaxy S6 Edge measures 142.1 x 70.1 x 7mm and weighs 132 grams.
