You want to purchase a new tablet – well Samsung has just upped the ante and the sizes you can choose from, with the new Galaxy TabPRO that comes in a 8.4-inch, 10.1-inch, and 12.2-inch, as well as the Galaxy NotePRO in at 12.2-inches. Samsung revealed the devices at the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) and the tablets have started to make their way around the globe. Today, Samsung announced the availability and pricing for the Canadian market, saying that they will be rolling out the end of February through the end of March. Paul Brannen, Senior VP, Enterprise and Mobile Solutions, Samsung Canada stated in their press release:
“The GALAXY PRO Series showcases Samsung’s continued commitment to groundbreaking innovation and setting new benchmarks in the tablet industry. The GALAXY NotePRO and TabPRO offer top of the line productivity tools as well as the best viewing experience possible. This series is truly game changing and further establishes Samsung’s leadership in the mobile space.”
The Galaxy NotePRO 12.2 and Galaxy TabPRO 12.2 are the first tablets in the world to employ a 12.2-inch WQXGA Widescreen (16:10) display that offers more than 4-million pixels and a crystal clear resolution of 2560X1600 for the ultimate Full HD viewing experience. The Galaxy TabPRO 10.1 and Galaxy TabPRO 8.4 also pack a 2560X1600 screen resolution giving the TabPRO 8.4 an outrageous 368 PPI. With the rest of the specs to back up this powerful line of tablets, it will be interesting to see how well they sell with their higher price tags. Certainly the most popular consumer tablet in terms of price and size should be the Galaxy TabPRO 8.4, while the large PRO 12.2 models would be more highly regarded for the business consumer. The PRO 10.1 may just be the sweet spot for many, as it is still small enough to cart around in a bag and yet large enough to really enjoy multitasking, videos, movies, or gaming.
Pricing for Canada is as follows: Samsung GALAXY NotePRO 12.2-inch – $769.99, Samsung GALAXY TabPRO 12.2-inch – $669.99, Samsung GALAXY TabPRO 10.1-inch – $519.99, and Samsung GALAXY TabPRO 8.4-inch – $419.99. The retailers announced are Costco, Best Buy, Future Shop, Staples, The Source, Target, and Walmart…of course not all models will be available at all retailers. As an added value for all Galaxy PRO purchases, Samsung will include a few long-term, pre-paid subscriptions for best-selling news, social media, and cloud storage providers – as an added exclusive for Canadian consumers, all Galaxy PRO customers will receive a special offer to access three months of Next Issue Canada, which offers readers unlimited access to more than 125 popular Canadian and U.S. magazines.
