Samsung has started pushing out a maintenance update for the Galaxy S8 in the United Kingdom as of Tuesday. Unfortunately, the upgrade doesn’t bring any neat new features to the device, but it does transport a couple of new options for the Adaptive Display mode designed to patch a bug that resulted in some users noticing a red tint on the device’s screen.
Even though some customers have reported that the update hasn’t resolved the issue on their Galaxy S8, Samsung’s sticking to its original statement that the glitch isn’t hardware-related and not something every owner will experience, but if they’re not satisfied with the upgrade, they can request a replacement unit.
The update is rolling out in stages
As was the case with the release the firm started distributing in South Korea on April 27, this OTA is rolling out in stages — so if it’s not ready for your Galaxy S8 just yet, there’s no need to panic. It should reach your handset by the end of the week at the very latest, though it’ll probably arrive later today.
