Samsung released it’ all metal framed smartphones Galaxy A3 and A5 recently in China. But if sources are believed, Samsung is not going to launch these phones in other markets.
The biggest reason behind this development is due to Samsung’s low yield on production of the unibody metal frames for the devices. Samsung is new to building all metal unibody phones and apparently for its suppliers also this is a completely new area. Reportedly, only about 50% of the cases made it past Samsung’s quality control, which is a very, very low yield and explains the limited availability.
Samsung is going to solve this issue for future products. But for current devices the challenge is huge. So it is most unlikely that other markets such as Europe, US or India will ever get Galaxy A3 or A5.
