After several leaks, Samsung officially launched the Galaxy A5 (2016) and Galaxy A7 (2016) back in December 2015 in China. Now, the company has officially launched the upper mid-range smartphones in the Indian market. Both the devices feature improved all-metal unibody design with minor changes in the design when compared to its predecessors. The Galaxy A5 (2016) and Galaxy A7 (2016) are priced at Rs. 29,400 and Rs. 33,400 respectively and will come in White, Black, Gold and Rose Gold color options. The smartphones will be available from Feb 15th exclusively via Snapdeal and Samsung retail stores across the country.

Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016)
The Galaxy A5 (2016) features a 5.2-inch (1920×1080 pixels) full-HD Super AMOLED display offering a pixel density of 424ppi and Corning Gorilla Glass 4 laid on top of it for protection. Under the hood, it comes powered by 64-bit Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor clocked at 1.6GHz paired with Adreno 405 GPU for smooth performance. It supports dual sim dual standby and runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop based TouchWiz UI out of the box with planned upgrade to Android Marshmallow in near future.
On the photographic section, the smartphone sports a 13MP rear camera with OIS, f/1.9 aperture, dual-tone LED flash and a 5MP front-facing camera with a f/1.9 aperture for video chats and perfect selfie images. The device includes standard connectivity options like 4G-LTE (Cat 4 LTE), Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, GPS/A-GPS, Wi-Fi and a microUSB 2.0 port with OTG functionality.

The Galaxy A7 (2016) flaunts a slightly larger 5.5-inch (1080×1920 pixels) full-HD Super AMOLED display with 401ppi as pixel density and Corning Gorilla Glass 4 on top of it for protection. It comes equipped with same Snapdragon 615 SoC seen on the Galaxy A5 (2016) clubbed with higher 3GB of RAM, 16GB of storage and microSD card slot for expansion upto 128GB. It supports dual sim dual standby and includes connectivity options like 4G-LTE (Cat 6 LTE), Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi, GPS, NFC and microUSB 2.0 port with OTG support.
The smartphone comes with the same set of camera’s as seen on the Galaxy A5 (2016) and also includes a fingerprint sensor for enhanced security. The handset comes backed by a larger 3300mAh battery that can easily last for an entire on a single charge. It also runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop based TouchWiz UI laid on top and will receive Android Marshmallow update in future. The dimensions of the device measure 151.5 x 74.1 x 7.3 mm and weighs around 172 grams.
