SEOUL, South Korea - Specifications and release dates of a selection of new smartphones as been announced by Samsung, including the Galaxy Ace 2, the Galaxy Mini 2 and the Samsung Rugby Smart.
The first two smartphones, the Galaxy Ace 2 and the Galaxy Mini 2 are the result of the popularity of their predecessors the Galaxy Ace and the Galaxy Mini. Each of the smartphones has been designed to provide users with a low-cost device that has an even mix of both style and performance.
The Galaxy Ace 2 comes with a 3.8 inch WVGA touchscreen display, a dual-core processor, a 5 megapixel camera and the Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS installed on the handset. This smart phone can easily handle high-resolution graphics and has no problem running multiple applications simultaneously.
With the Galaxy Mini 2 users will get a more compact handset with slightly lower specs than the Galaxy Ace 2, like a 3.27 inch touchscreen display, a single core processor and a 3 megapixel camera, although it too will come with the Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS installed.
The third of the handsets is the Samsung Rugby Smart, which will be one of the budget handset in the Samsung range, although little has been announced regarding its specs so far apart from recent reports of it coming with a WVGA display and 512MB internal memory.
The release dates and locations are different for each of the devices with the Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 releasing in the UK in April 2012 whilst the Samsung Galaxy Mini 2 will release in France in March 2012 before shipping worldwide. The release date for the Samsung Rugby Smart was originally set for February 18th, which has now passed and so far there has been no news of a revised date from Samsung.
