The #GalaxyGolden was Samsung’s flip phone comeback and has been moderately successful in some Asian markets, despite its heavy price tag. In general though, one would agree that the Galaxy Golden is a failed concept as it didn’t manage to strike a chord with the masses. However, Samsung doesn’t seem to be giving up on the concept just yet and is believed to be preparing on the third gen Galaxy Golden smartphone, according to a benchmark listing.
GFXBench has revealed the existence of the Galaxy Golden 3 a.k.a the SM-W2016. It is revealed that the handset comes with a 4.6 inch 1280 x 768 display, a 16-megapixel camera on the back, a 5-megapixel front camera, the Exynos 7420 octa core SoC, 3GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage and Android 5.1 Lollipop.
Clearly, the display is not on par with the flagships out there, but the rest of the specs sheet is pretty solid. This almost seems like a Galaxy S6 replica in a flip form factor (barring the display), which isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
