While the Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II are likely going to be updated directly to Android 4.3, skipping 4.2.2 entirely, that’s not the case with other Samsung handsets.
According to Sam Mobile, the Galaxy Grand Duos (model number GT-i9082) is being updated to Android 4.2.2 as of now – at least in Russia.
We don’t know if the single-SIM version of the Galaxy Grand (model number GT-i9080) is also ready to receive its 4.2.2 update. In any case, if previous rumors are correct, the Galaxy Grand and Galaxy Grand Duos will not be updated further – so Android 4.2.2 is the best they are getting.
Announced in December 2012, but released only starting this year, the Galaxy Grand and Galaxy Grand Duos share most of their features, including: a 5 inch display with 800 x 480 pixels, 8MP rear camera, 2MP front-facing camera, dual-core 1.2GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of expandable memory, and a 2,100 mAh battery.
