The smartphone which was previously spotted on the Zauba has now made a brief appearance on the famous benchmark website. Nothing unusual, but now this device is listed with a new name. Yes, previously what was believed to Galaxy Grand Prime 2016 variant from Samsung is now being spotted on the Antutu benchmarking website as the Galaxy Grand Prime+. This is quite new from the South Korean manufacturer. Also, we do get have some of the specs of the device from the benchmarking website, so let’s take a look at some of them.
As mentioned earlier, the device is listed with the SM-G532F model number. On the front, it looks like it will have a display with a resolution of 540 x 960. Display size is not mentioned, but from our previous spotting, it is expected to be of 5-inches. It is powered by a MediaTek MT6737T, which is a quad-core CPU and it also packs the Mali-T720 GPU. It also packs 2GB of RAM along with the 32GB of internal storage. In terms of the camera, we are looking at an 8-megapixel rear facing shooter and a 5-megapixel front facing selfie shooter. It also runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.
Well, looking at the specs from the benchmark website spotting, it looks like this is going to be an entry level smartphone from the company. Although we don’t have any info on the availability or the pricing of the device, it is expected that it will land in the market quite soon. Earlier – Apart from the flagship smartphones that Samsung launches every year, they also come up with a variety of budget smartphone offering for the affordable market segment. The company recently launched the Galaxy note 7, which will be launching in India on August 11th. This year as well, the company has already introduced a handful of them, and it appears that they are still going to launch another one to add on to the list. According to reports, the company is now working on the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime (2016).
In case you forgot, the previously launched Galaxy Grand was launched two years back, and it is just about the time that this is device gets an upgrade. According to Zauba, Samsung has imported several samples of the SM-G532F in India for testing. It is also reported that this device first appeared on July 12th. So a total of 8 units of this particular model number has been spotted with a 5-inch display.
Looking at the model number, this could very well be the next Galaxy Grand since the last one had SM-G531 as it’s model number. We don’t have any other info about the specs of this device since it’s only a Zauba listing. But we’re sure more, and more new info like the specs details, pricing, and availability will be revealed in coming weeks. But it is expected that this one will be yet another mid-ranged Android device only.
The previously launched Galaxy Grand Prime had a 5-inch display with a resolution of 540×960. It was powered by a quad-core 1.2 GHz processor and had 1GB of RAM. It also had 8GB of internal storage with a microSD card expandability option. Other hardware specs include the 8-megapixel rear facing camera, dual-SIM support, and a 2,600 mAh battery. It was targeted towards the budget market and hence it was offered at an affordable price range with such specifications. As mentioned before, we don’t have any info about the pricing or the availability of the device at this point in time, so stay tuned for more info on this in coming days.
