SEOUL, South Korea – Samsung has started to release the Android KitKat 4.4.2 update for many of its premium flagships and the latest handset to get the chocolate treatment is the Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 phablet.
The handset was announced last year with the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean offering. The new software update has a build number I9200XXUDNE4 which is currently available in Russia via Samsung Kies. This could be a staged roll-out, so other countries will soon be on the list to receive the update.
In order to get the over-the-air update, users much check the About screen in the Settings menu. The other could option is connecting the Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 to a computer and check the availability of the update through Kies. This update will bring all the conventional KitKat features which include improved performance, support for wireless printing, camera shortcut on the lockscreen, and better battery life.
