Problem: My device starts freezing randomly which causes every app that I open to freeze also and crash. Then, the phone sometimes restarts on its own. Other times it turns off and does not turn back on. Many times I’ve tried to troubleshoot using the soft reset or trying to power it by charging (with and without my laptop). I’ve also changed the animation and transition features from 1 to 0.5. I tried to clear the cache partition, but the screen would not come up no matter how long i held the home, power, and volume up buttons. None of these seems to have worked. This is happening with a brand new Samsung Galaxy Note 4 phone that has no liquid or physical damages. Additionally, when I plug in my phone charger, the phone has a very slow response time.
Solution: Does your phone have a microSD installed? If it does then it may be corrupt and causing the problem. Try taking this microSD card out of your phone then check if the issue still occurs.
Ideally, you will want to wipe the cache partition of your phone in this case since the problem could be caused by a corrupt temporary data. To properly wipe the cache partition of your phone follow the steps listed below.
Press Home, Volume Up and Power buttons together.
Let the Power and Home buttons go off when the Note 4 starts vibrating.
The recovery screen will appear. Select Wipe Cache partition using the Volume Down key.
Confirm the step by pressing the Power button.
After wiping the cache partition check if the issue still occurs. If it does then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
Note 4 Google Play Services Has Stopped
Problem:Every once in awhile my phone will say that Google Play services have stopped and it will do this several times when playing games that are connected to Google I’ve tried mostly everything I know because I don’t feel like resetting my phone to factory
Solution: Before doing any troubleshooting make sure that your phone is running on the latest software version. Start the troubleshooting by checking if a new update to the Google Play Services is causing this problem. To do this you need to uninstall the updates to this app.
Another factor that can cause this problem is some form of corrupt temporary data in your phone. To check if this is the case you need to start your phone in recovery mode then wipe its cache partition. Restart your phone then check if the issue still occurs.
If you are still experiencing the same problem then the next thing to do is to check if an app you installed in your phone is causing the problem. To do this you need to start your phone in Safe Mode. In this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run while apps you downloaded are disabled. If the problem disappears in this mode then it is most likely caused by an app you installed in your phone. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
If the above troubleshooting steps fail then you should definitely consider doing a factory reset. Just remember to backup your phone data first as this procedure deletes all data stored in your phone.
Note 4 Black Screen when Using Snapchat
Problem:My snapchat has been acting up. After sending or receiving snaps, my note 4 sudden switches to a black screen for a long time and comes back to the main menu and won’t allow me to access it. The other situation is after receiving/sending snaps, my Note 4 will froze and I can’t do anything for 2 mins. I’m forced to press the menu button and close snapchat before using it everytime I use it now.
Solution: The problem could be caused by the Snapchat app itself. Try to uninstall the app then check if the issue still occurs. If it doesn’t then you may be using an outdated version of the app. Try to download the app again from the Google Play Store ( you will immediately be getting the latest version). Check if the problem still occurs.
If the problem persists then it could be caused by some form of corrupt temporary data in your phone. Try to start your phone in recovery mode then wipe its cache partition. Restart your phone then check if the issue still occurs.
Note 4 Apps Don’t Update
Problem: When trying to update apps, they will never fully update. The status bar keeps going and going but it never full updates.. Also, I am unable to download new apps and it does the same thing, they will not fully download. I have cleared the cache but not the system cache as the instructions I have found for some reason don’t work on my phone. Please help!
Solution: Is your phone connected to a stable Internet connection? Sometimes if the connection is spotty you won’t be able to update your apps or download apps. If you are using a Wi-Fi connection to connect to the Internet then try using a different Wi-Fi network. If you are using mobile data to connect to the Internet when make sure to be using the LTE connection.
If your phone is connected to a stable connection then the next thing to do is to check if the phone software is causing the problem. It’s best to wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode first. If you are unable to do this or if this does not resolve the problem then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
Note 4 App Causes Phone To Freeze
Problem:When I downloaded this app, it started making my phone freeze, go to a black screen when trying to open…I would like to keep using this app because it is by Samsung, please try to fix it.
Solution: If you have pinpointed the problem to be caused by this particular app then you should try to contact the app developer regarding this matter as this may be caused by a bug in the app. Right now I suggest you don’t use the app and instead wait for a new update to arrive which may contain a fix to this problem.
Note 4 Can’t Install Facebook App
Problem:Facebook has been messing about for a few days now. Not responding quickly . Sometimes good sometimes bad. Phone kept switching itself off. Suddenly in the middle of looking at a post facebook just went… left me with a blue page and the circle thing going round. Uninstalled the app and now i am unable to reinstall…Message comes up saying Can’t install app. Try again later. 24 hours later still not working. thanks
Solution: The problem could be caused by a bad update to the app which has happened before. Unfortunately though when you try to install a fresh version of the app you are unable to do so due to the error message that pops up.
Here’s what you need to do to resolve this problem. Try to check if this issue is related to your connection by using a different Internet connection source. Connect your phone to a different Wi-Fi network or use your phone’s mobile data connection to download the app.
If the problem still remains then start your phone in recovery mode and wipe its cache partition. Restart your phone then log out from your Google account. After a few minutes log back in then try to download the app.
If the issue still remains then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
