Problem:Hey, my galaxy note 4 will randomly turn off and won’t start again unless it’s charging , i can use it if it is connected to power and charging ,but once i disconnect it from the charger it will stay on for few minutes then suddenly turn off , all this happen even though the battery is fully charged , i did factory reset but the problem remains.
Solution: Since you already performed a factory reset with the issue still persisting then there is a chance that the problem may be with the battery since you mentioned that if your phone is connected to the charger you are able to use it. Try to get a new battery then see if the issue still persists.
Note 4 Does Not Start Up
Problem:My phone wont start up. It was working perfectly fine on Monday and then on Tuesday morning it wouldn’t turn on. Then after a couple of hours i kept taking the battery out and putting it back in and it started to work but it kept turning off and restarting by itself very often. I thought it might be due to something i downloaded even though the only thing i downloaded recently was snapchat, i rebooted my phone to factory setting but that hasn’t helped. My phone still switches itself off randomly and today it’s completely turned off again and won’t switch back on. I honestly have no clue of what to do cause i only got this phone earlier on this year. I would like to know what the problem is and if there is anyway of fixing it. If there is a problem that i need to get it fixed because i don’t want to go to a local repair shop and get scammed. Thank you
Problem: Try taking out the battery of your phone first then press and hold the power button for at least a minute. This discharges the phone circuit and clears out its RAM. Reinsert the battery then connect the phone to its wall charger and let it charge for at least 20 minutes. After 20 minutes have passed disconnect the wall charger then turn on your phone.
If your phone turns on then backup your data then do a factory reset.
If your phone does not turn on then check if it is indeed charging. If it isn’t charging then replace the USB cord you are using to charge your phone. You should also make sure that the charging port is free of any dirt or debris. If needed, clean the charging port with a can of compressed air or cotton bud dipped in alcohol.
If the above troubleshooting steps fail to resolve the problem then I suggest you get a new battery. Once your phone turns on with the new battery I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
Note 4 Power Button Works Intermittently
Problem:This is the 3rd note 4 Samsung in 2 months. Problem is the Power button. When I press to turn on it only works sometimes.I have to press several times to get the phone on. Sometimes the screen turns on only to disappear as soon as let go of button. Over the course of time the issue happens more frequently. Second issue: after a phone call the screen doesn’t reappear quickly for me to hang up. I have to keep touching the screen. 3rd.issue after having 3 new cards put it it still says insert new card
Solution: The power button issue of your phone may be caused by some dirt or loose connection in the power button. Just make sure that your phone is not using any case, if it is then remove the case and check the power button again. If your phone does not have a case installed then the only way to effectively deal with this is to open your device and physically check the power button. For this procedure you need to bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it done. The button contacts may have to be cleaned, its connection may have to be tightened, or the entire power button may need to be replaced.
For the second issue of the screen not appearing quickly this may be caused by some form of corrupt data. Try wiping the cache partition of your phone and see if this resolves the problem. You should also make sure that the area of your phone proximity sensor is clean. If your phone has a screen protector attached then this may also be causing the issue.
For the third issue, are you referring to a microSD card? If you are getting this error message when inserting a microSD then make sure the card is inserted properly. You should also check if the microSD card can be read by your computer. If it can then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. If the problem still occurs after the factory reset then there may be something wrong with the microSD card slot of your phone. Have this checked at an authorized service center.
Note 4 Works Only If Charger Is Plugged In
Problem:Hello, My Samsung Note 4 only works with the charger plugged in. As soon as it’s taken off the charger, it starts rebooting itself repeatedly (sort of in a loop), unless and until it is plugged back to the charger. Now I’ve bought a new battery but it continues to do the same. I’ve also wiped the cache partition but still no result and still the same problem. I don’t want to do a factory reset unless I’ve exhausted all my options. Please help. Best regards.
Solution: In most cases like this the main culprit is the battery. Since you already replaced the battery with a new one then the next thing that you should do is to perform a factory reset to eliminate any software related problems that may be causing this issue.
Note 4 Shuts Down Does Not Start
Problem: Whole phone shut down. Had a message this phone will shut down in 5 minutes and then it did and since will not power up. I took the phone to battery world, they checked the battery and it is fine. Can anything be done. No power – it wont start, chargers and cords for attaching to laptop and main power have been checked and they are fine (working on other device). Any assistance appreciated.
Solution: Try to drain your phone of any charge by taking out the battery then pressing and holding the power button for at least a minute. Reinsert the battery then check if you can turn on the phone. If not then I suggest you try to use a new battery.
If the issue persists then this may already be a hardware related problem. I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.
Note 4 Stuck In Samsung Logo
Problem:Good Afternoon, i used my phone this morning to check Instagram and YouTube, prior to leaving for work i check my phone for any messages only to find a green notification light lit and my phone unresponsive. i have “cleared the cache” and reset back to factory settings as per your page, but the phone will not move past the Samsung logo, upon boot up and leaves me with the logo on the screen with the notification light flashing Blue/white? any suggestions. thanks in advance
Solution: If the factory reset fails to resolve the issue then your phone may be bricked. The best way to resolve this is to flash your phone with its original stock firmware. You will need a copy of your phone firmware which you can get at SamMobile as well as the latest version of Odin installed in your computer. Detailed instructions on how to perform this procedure can be found at several of the popular online Android forums.
