Problem:I’ve tried so many of the texting apps available in the play store, I’ve soft reset my phone, but I still continue to have issues with texts not sending, taking a long time to get to sender, and a long time to get a response. It feels like a phone issue, not a network issue, because others don’t have the same problem, but I just don’t know what to do. I like customization, but it seems like that interferes with the phones productivity?
Solution: Since the Note 4 has 3GB of RAM then you can customize your device anyway you want to. Just make sure that there is enough free RAM in your phone so that it won’t freeze or lag. As a minimum make sure that you still have 500MB of RAM even when several apps are running.
Regarding the text messaging issue that you are experiencing try to check first if this issue is caused by corrupt data by clearing its cache and data of your messaging app. You should also follow this up by wiping the cache partition of your phone.
If the issue persists then check if an app installed in your phone is causing this problem. To do this you need to start your phone in Safe Mode. In this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run while the apps you downloaded are disabled. Try sending a text message. If you don’t experience any problem then an app installed in your phone may be the culprit. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
If the above troubleshooting steps fail then I suggest you perform a factory reset. Just make sure to backup your phone data before doing this procedure.
Note 4 Takes Too Long to Send Text Message
Problem: For a while now I’ve been missing some calls as the phone does not notify me of an incoming call. Yesterday my text messages started to glitch and it was taking a long time for texts to send. Now it also takes a long time before I receive any texts.. I tried downloading the Samsung diagnostics app but when I enter Google Play Store it takes forever to even open anything up. Then it took so long for the diagnostics app to start loading that I gave up. I can open Google, Facebook, etc, and send/receive my emails without problem . I’ve tried doing a soft boot numerous times but no luck.
Solution: It looks like some form of corrupt data is causing this problem. I suggest you try wiping the cache partition of your phone first and see if the problem still occurs.
Certain apps installed in your phone can also cause this type of issue. To check if this is the case you need to start your phone in Safe Mode. Only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run in this mode. If the problem disappears in this mode then there’s a chance that an app you installed in your phone is causing the problem. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
If the problem still persists even in Safe mode then I suggest you do a factory reset using the hardware keys. Just make sure to backup your phone data before performing this procedure.
Note 4 Does Not Send Text Message
Problem: Sometimes when texting It doesn’t send, and just spins around forever until I can it. Also my phone keeps on multiplining my contact and favorites
Solution: Does your phone have sufficient network coverage when the issue occurs? If there is a signal drop and you are trying to send a text message then the message will take a long time to send.
Once you have verified that the problem is not signal related then it’s time to troubleshoot the phone. The first thing you should do is to clear the cache and data of the messaging app. If the app has a corrupt temporary data stored in it then this may affect not only the sending but receiving of text message as well. It’s also best to wipe the cache partition of your phone as a follow up procedure.
If the problem persists try to use the Hangouts app when sending a text message and see if the problem remains. If it doesn’t then the most likely cause is an update to the stock messaging app you are using. Try uninstalling the update to your messaging app and see if this resolves the issue.
To verify if a third party app installed in your phone is causing this issue you should start your phone in Safe Mode.If you don’t experience the issue in this mode then it’s most likely caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
One last resort you should consider is to do a factory reset using the hardware keys of your phone. Make sure to backup your phone data first before performing this procedure.
Note 4 Text Message Received Out Of Order
Problem:When I text the other person’s text will always show and my texts go above it instead of underneath their text
Solution: To resolve this issue make sure that the automatic date and time as well as the automatic time zone settings of your phone has check marks. Delete the conversation thread then start a new conversation.
Note 4 Sent Text Messages Not Received
Problem:I just upgraded from a Note 2 to a Note 4 in August and have just noticed that there are at least 3 people who are not receiving my messages. Two of them have iPhones and the other has a Note 3. The one thing that I have done recently is I did clear all credentials so I could just swipe the phone open and not have to enter a pattern/password/pin. No clue if this would have an impact or not. On my phone, it is not saying that the messages are not going through, so I have gone on thinking that all was fine. Please help!
Solution: Clearing the security lock of your phone does not have any effect on the delivery of your text message. Try sending yourself a text message and see if you can receive it. If you can then go ahead and send your friend with the iPhone or Note 3 a text message. If the message has been successfully sent then the issue is not on your end but on their end.
Some of the factors that may affect the receiving of text message are as follows
Network: If the sender and receiver belong to different networks then there may be a lag or the message may not be received.
Traffic: If a huge number of text messages are being sent at a particular time then this may cause your message to be delayed
Software: If your number was accidentally blocked on the recipient’s device then they will not see your text message.
