Problem: My screen is black but my lights come on and my red charge button come on my screen is black and crack they want 280. too fix it I don’t have that right now what can I do
Solution: If your phone display is black and it has a crack then there’s a big possibility that the display is already broken and needs to be replaced. However, just to eliminate all possible causes as to why you can’t see anything on the phone display you can do some troubleshooting steps which concentrates mostly on the software side.
The first thing that you can do is to wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode. Check if you can access our phone recovery mode. If you can then the problem is most likely software related. In the recovery mode you will be able to see some text based commands which you can run. If wiping the cache partition in this mode fails to resolve the problem then you should consider doing a factory reset. Take note that this will delete all data stored in your phone so make sure to do this only if you have recently made a backup of your phone data.
If your can’t access the recovery mode of your phone then this problem is most likely caused by a damaged phone display. You need to bring your phone to an authorized service center and have this display replaced. The average cost of a replacement display is around $150 which means you have to prepare an amount more than that to cover the service fee.
Note 4 Can’t See Anything On The Screen
Problem: I can’t see anything on the screen. I took it to Verizon but they telling me that the phone it’s out of warranty bought phone August 2014. I pay to much money for this phone I need help fixing it.
Solution: There’s very little information for me to work with what you have given. Is the display alone black? Does the notification LED in your phone light up? If you connect your phone to a charger does the charging LED light up? If it’s only the display that does not work then there’s a possibility that it is already defective.
Make sure your phone battery has sufficient charge. To be sure just plug your phone to its wall charger and let it charge for at least 20 minutes. Try to start your phone in recovery mode. If your phone can’t enter recovery mode then this is already a hardware related problem. I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.
If you can enter the recovery mode then proceed with wiping the cache partition of your device. If that does not work then I suggest you perform a factory reset in this mode. Take note that this will delete your phone data so do this only if you have recently made a backup of your phone data.
Note 4 Top Screen Unresponsive
Problem: I think this may be due to the fact that this is a refurbished phone but I noticed a while after it was replaced, when changing the battery the very top of my screen becomes unresponsive. I can’t pull down the notification shade at all but the rest of the screen works. Then after some time has past (never timed it) it works again.
Solution: If the top part of the phone screen works after some time has passed after becoming unresponsive then this may be a software related problem. Start the troubleshooting by wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode. This deletes the temporary data stored in your phone which if corrupt can cause this problem. Restart your phone then check if the issue still occurs.
If the problem still occurs then try to check if an app you downloaded is causing this problem. To do this you need to start your phone in Safe Mode. In this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run while apps you downloaded are disabled. If you don’t experience the issue in this mode then it is likely caused by an app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
If however the problem still occurs even in Safe Mode then it’s time to backup your phone data and do a factory reset. Do not install anything in your phone after the reset. You should first check if the problem still occurs.
If the above troubleshooting steps fail to resolve the problem then this may already be caused by a faulty digitizer. I suggest you have your phone checked at an authorized service center.
Note 4 Screen Gets Stuck In Landscape Mode
Problem:Sometimes when I switch to landscape mode from portrait, my screen gets stuck in landscape mode. I can use the device and do everything properly. On the home screen the phone stays in portrait mode but whenever I open an app it switches to landscape mode and even switching off the screen rotation doesn’t help.
Solution: This may just be caused by a glitch in the phone software. Try wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode. If this doesn’t work then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
If the factory reset fails to resolve the problem then this may be caused by a faulty orientation sensor. If this is the case then you need to bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.
Note 4 Screen Randomly Went Black
Problem: Hey guys last night I wanted to stop apps running in the background on my note 4 and after I did that this morning my screen just randomly went black and nothing showed all day after that. the rest of the phone works still but the screen still stays black, I think I stopped a app from running in the background that was meant to stay on, could you please help me out with this problem. Thank you
Solution: Try to restart your phone and see if this works. If the display is still black then take out your phone battery and the microSD card. Press and hold the power button for at least a minute then reinsert just the battery. See if you can turn on your phone now.
If the problem still remains then try wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode. This deletes the temporary data in your phone which if corrupt can cause this problem. Restart your phone.
One other factor that can cause this problem is an app that you downloaded. To check if this is the case you should start your phone in Safe Mode. In this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run while apps you downloaded are disabled. If your phone starts normally in this mode then the issue is most likely caused by an app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
If the above troubleshooting steps fail to resolve the problem then you should consider doing a factory reset from the recovery mode. Take note that this will delete all data stored in your phone.
Note 4 Black Screen After Drop
Problem:dropped my note 4 at knee height and now my screen is black it still has led and lights work on the bottom display and msg tones all work but screen is completely black please help it’s 300 just to get it looked at here… not even fixed
Solution: Unfortunately in this case it appears that the display is already defective. You will need to have this replaced. If you know your way around smartphones then you can do the replacement yourself by following some YouTube videos on this subject. You just need to buy the display assembly for your device which usually costs $150. I would however suggest that you let the professionals replace your phone display.
