Problem:I can take pictures just fine but when I go to record it just says “warning can not record” and then force closes the camera
Solution: In most cases like this the problem is caused by some form of corrupt data. This is why the first thing that you should do is to go to the application manager from settings, search for the camera app, then clear its cache and data. Once this is done follow this up by starting your phone in recovery mode then wipe its cache partition. Restart the phone then see if you can now use your camera normally.
If the issue still occurs then proceed with checking of a third party app you installed is causing the issue. To do this you need to start your phone in Safe Mode. In this mode only the pre-installed apps in your phone are allowed to run while apps you downloaded are prevented from starting. Check you camera in this mode. If the problem disappears then it is most likely caused by an app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
If the above troubleshooting steps fail then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
Note 5 Can’t View Camera Photos
Problem:I have a Galaxy S5 Active, and find that when taking pictures that over half of the time photographs when saved only show a strip of the picture or nothing at all when I go to the gallery and attempt to enlarge the picture from the icon. The same thing occurs if I attempt to download the pictures to my desktop. This occurs using both the supplied camera App or the added on Open Camera App. Some show up, some don’t, I’m lost as what to do.
Solution: It’s very likely that the photos have become corrupt. This can be caused by a glitch in the app or the phone software.
The first thing you should do to troubleshoot this problem is to clear the phone of any presence of temporary data. This data if corrupt can cause this type of problem. Start by clearing the cache and data of the camera app. You should also wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode. Check you camera and see if the photos can be viewed.
If the issue still occurs then the next step is to check if an app you installed is causing the problem. To do this you need to start the phone in Safe Mode. In this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run while apps you downloaded are disabled. Check if the issue still occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then you will have to find the pap that’s causing this problem and uninstall it.
In case the above troubleshooting steps fail then backup your phone data and do a factory reset.
Note 5 Can’t Add Photo From Gallery Using eBay App
Problem:just bought this phone…very basic user…want to list on Ebay directly from the phone…going through ebay site, not a 3rd. party…when listing, and selecting “add photos” the phone only opens the camera, not the photo gallery…seems to be no other options or choices…can take a photo and it will auto-upload, but no way to crop or otherwise edit, so it looks awful…is this a an Ebay or a phone issue?
Solution: It’s likely that the issue is caused by the eBay app. Try uninstalling this app and install a fresh version from the Google Play Store. If the issue still remains then you need to contact the app developer regarding this.
Note 5 Immediately takes Photos In Selfie Mode
Problem: When I put the camera in selfie mode it starts taking pictures as soon as it detects my face. It keeps taking pictures until I turn it to regular camera mode. How do I stop this? I don’t push buttons say anything such as cheese it does it on its own.
Solution: This could be caused by a glitch in the app. Try clearing the cache and data of the app then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then proceed with wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
Sometimes, a third party app you installed can also cause this problem. To check if this is the case start your phone in Safe Mode then check the camera selfie mode. If the problem disappears then it could be caused by a third party app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
If the above troubleshooting steps fail then you should consider doing a factory reset. JUst make sure to backup your phone data before performing this procedure.
