Here’s one problem that many #Galaxy #Note5 owners complained about as they have to press 1 before answering incoming calls. It might appear like the issue is with the phone’s settings but it’s not. In fact, you don’t have to touch your phone to fix this problem. Read on to learn how to address this issue.

Have to press 1 to answer incoming calls on the Note 5
Problem: When calls come in I have to slide the green button, then bring up the keyboard and press 1 to answer. It says every call is a blocked number. Already removed third party apps and did a hard reset. Still the same problem. Everything else on the phone works great. Thanks.
Answer: You must be using Google Voice number. Well, the problem isn’t with your phone but with Google Voice settings. By default, all calls are screened in Google Voice. So, this is what you’re going to do:
Go to voice.google.com.
Log in to your Google account (the one you’re using in your phone).
Click the Settings icon at the top right corner.
Go to Calls.
Set Call Screen to Off.
You should be able to answer calls without having to press 1.
Galaxy Note 5 in call volume defaults to maximum
Problem: I’ve been having an issue with the ‘in call volume’ on my device since the beginning. While I’m on a call, the in call volume is at it’s max, so i lower it to where i require, but when I make or receive the next call, it goes up to max again. i have to then lower it again. Any ideas on how to fix this issue? Thanks.
Troubleshooting: I am sure it has something to do with your settings and I’m thinking perhaps, you have set your preference for the Personalize call sound option. Try this…
From the Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
Tap the Phone icon.
Now, touch More options (three dots), then choose Settings.
Touch Call and then Personal call sound.
Try to fiddle with the settings in this page.
Also, during a call, touch More options, and make sure Extra volume isn’t marked.
Touch tones not working on the Galaxy Note 5
Problem: After I make a call and an automated service asked me to press option for or any other number the phone does not recognize that option so I’m unable to get through.
Related Problem: I can’t press call options while I am on a call. Example: I’m calling a doctor’s office and the answering service says press 1 to speak with the doctor. My phone does not recognize the numbers while I’m on the call.
Related Problem: When I call Walmart to refill prescriptions their phone system doesn’t recognize my keyboard prompts. All I get is “invalid entry”. My phone keyboard prompts are not recognized. It works fine when I use my girlfriend’s phone. Thank you, Jim.
Troubleshooting: Touch tones not registering is common when you’re using Wi-Fi Calling so try making a call using the normal service. Other than that, I think you should call tech support and inquire about it.
Note 5 can’t make and receive calls
Problem: My phone is only a month or two old, and suddenly no phone calls can come in, nor can I dial any out. I hit “dial” and nothing goes through. After a time it tells me there is no signal. I am still able to use text and internet.
Troubleshooting: Try looking at the status bar and see if there’s an airplane icon. If there is, then the Airplane Mode was enabled. You need to disable that to allow wireless communications in your phone. If, however, there’s no airplane icon, it might be a network problem. So, call your provider about that as they can offer more help than us.
Note 5 reboots while on a call for 5 minutes
Problem: When talking to someone for 5 minutes it reboots itself then I have to go call the person back which it continues the same thing.
Troubleshooting: Looks like something is really off your phone. I’m not sure if it’s just an app issue or a firmware glitch. So, try to boot your phone in safe mode first:
Turn off your Galaxy S6.
Press and hold the Power key.
When ‘Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge’ appears, immediately release the Power key and then press and hold the Volume Down button.
Continue holding the Volume Down button until the phone finishes the restart.
When you see Safe Mode on the lower left corner of the screen, release the button.
In safe mode, try making a phone call and see if the device still reboots after 5 minutes or so. If it doesn’t, it’s an app problem. There might be an app you recently installed that’s causing this. Find that app and uninstall it. Otherwise, it’s a firmware issue and there’s nothing more you can do about it than factory reset but make sure you make a back up of your data before following these steps:
From the Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
Find and tap the Settings icon.
Under the ‘Personal’ section, find and tap Backup and reset.
Tap Factory data reset.
Touch Reset device to proceed with the reset.
Depending on the security lock you used, enter the PIN or password.
Touch Delete all to confirm your action.
Disable recent call history, caller ID & other call-related setting
Problem: Whenever I am receiving calls or making outgoing calls, it’s showing the recent activity with that particular caller. How to turn off the recent activity during incoming and outgoing calls?
When I cross-checked with the Note 3, it has the feature in Settings like enabling/disable show caller information but I could not be able to find that option in my Note 5. Also, call related pop up is missed on Note 5 phone settings. Can you please help me out to fix this issue as soon as possible?
Troubleshooting: As to the call history, you cannot disable the feature simply because you can delete the history at will. Here’s how…
From the Home screen, tap the Phone icon.
Tap the Logs tab.
Touch the More icon and choose Settings.
Tick the checkbox next to All to ‘Select log items’.
Just like the Note 3, you can also enable or disable Caller ID.
From the Home screen, tap the Phone icon.
Tap the More icon, then Settings.
Tap More settings.
Touch Caller ID and select Hide number.
I don’t know what you really mean with that “call related pop up” so I can’t give you an answer on that one. I hope these help.
Note 5 shows “Contacts has stopped” error
Problem: Hit phone app and error message shows “contacts has stopped” and cannot check recent calls or dial a number to call out. Can use Contacts to select a previously saved number and call. Tried soft reset, did not cure. Cleaned Contacts cache, did not cure.
Troubleshooting: First of all, backup all your contacts just to make sure they won’t be deleted. You may sync them to your Google account or export them to your phone’s storage. Then try clearing the cache and data of both Contacts and Contact Storage services. That should fix the problem but in case it continues after that, then maybe it’s a firmware issue. Backup all your data, remove your Google account, disable all screen securities and perform a master reset.
Turn off your Samsung Galaxy Note 5.
Press and hold the Volume Up, Home and Power keys together.
When the device powers on and displays ‘Power on logo’, release all keys and the Android icon will appear on the screen.
Wait until the Android Recovery Screen appears after about 30 seconds.
Using the Volume Down key, highlight the option, ‘wipe data/factory reset’ and press the Power key to select it.
Press the Vol Down button again until the option ‘Yes — delete all user data’ is highlighted and then press the Power key to select it.
After the reset is complete, highlight ‘Reboot system now’ and hit the Power key to restart the phone.
Video Calling activated but video button not enabled
Question: I’ve activated my video calling but I’m unable to use the video button in my phone app. What am I missing?
Answer: The person whom you want to video conference with must also enable the same option or have a phone that’s capable of video calling. If you’re not on Wi-Fi, you must be on LTE to be able to use the feature.
